Powerline Hazards

The Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, section 483   “Power Line Hazards Training” states, “A person shall not operate a mobile crane, boom truck or similar equipment that has the capacity of encroaching on a power line without having first completed a safety training program on Power Line Hazards prescribed by the commission.”

Traffic Control Person

Level I

A TCP Level I will be responsible to monitor construction zones and make sure that:

• Traffic is moving safely though temporary situations that limit or change the flow of regular traffic

• Traffic is stopped or slowed as needed.

• Workers are warned of any potential dangers.

Traffic Control Person

Level II

A TCP Level II is responsible for the following:

• Analyzing and assessing hazards associated with traffic control operations

• Developing traffic control plans

• Setting up and tearing down the site

Transportation Dangerous Goods
